In association with Consultant Podiatrist Mr Andrew James, Pro Sports Medicine provides a comprehensive Podiatry service from our Cardiff clinic.
Our podiatry service specialises in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of foot, ankle and lower limb problems in people of all ages. Every client is given a comprehensive assessment and is provided with a treatment plan according to their needs.
Treatments may include; advice, diagnosis, exercise plans, muscle balance, gait and posture analysis or muscular-skeletal assessment. In some instances it may be necessary to refer to your G.P, Consultant or another health practitioner. Laboratory tests or radiographic imaging are sometimes suggested to confirm a diagnosis.
Meet our Consultant Podiatrist Mr Andrew James
Having qualified in 1994 Andrew worked in the NHS for seven years including two years as Head of Orthotic Services for the North Glamorgan NHS Trust.
In 2001 he decided to work exclusively in the private sector with a focus on elite sport. In the last 15 years Andrew has worked closely with many elite sports organisations/companies including The WRU, the ECB, Nuffield Hospital Cardiff, Spire Hospital Cardiff, Puma and a number of Premier League Football Clubs. Notably, Andrew has previously been a Consultant Podiatrist to the Emirates Airline based in Dubai demonstrating his international recognition as an industry leader in podiatry.
While he specialises in sports injuries, Andrew can assess and advise on the full spectrum of lower limb injuries & pathology. He has a special interests in assessing the dynamic foot, orthotic therapy, paediatrics, toe nail surgery under local anaesthesia and sports injuries.
While he now practices exclusively in private practice, Andrew retains his responsibility for a number of premier league football clubs and professional rugby clubs within the English Premiership and the United Rugby Championship.
In addition to his clinical work, Andrew is proud to be a visiting lecturer at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
