For over 20 years, Daniel Jones has worked at the highest level of professional and international sport, delivering elite-level sports medicine, rehabilitation, diagnostic ultrasound, and injection therapy to professional athletes and active individuals alike.

As Head of Medical Services at Cardiff Rugby, Daniel leads the performance medical department responsible for the management, rehabilitation, and return-to-performance planning of elite professional rugby players competing at domestic and European level.

Alongside his role in elite sport, Daniel is the Founder and Clinical Director of Pro Sports Medicine — one of Wales’ leading sports medicine and physiotherapy clinics, trusted by elite athletes, professional teams, and active individuals seeking specialist musculoskeletal care.

Notably, Daniel worked with the Wales National Rugby Squad during the 2021 Summer International series and has supported athletes ranging from academy prospects to senior international players.

He was also part of the medical team involved in Cardiff Rugby’s EPCR European Challenge Cup success in Bilbao in 2018

Advanced Diagnostics & Injection Therapy

Daniel has developed a specialist interest in combining advanced diagnostics with precision-led treatment planning.

He holds a postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound and performs diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound assessments to support accurate clinical diagnosis and targeted treatment planning.

He also holds a postgraduate qualification in Injection Therapy and regularly performs:

Ultrasound-guided steroid injections
Hyaluronic acid injections
Advanced regenerative medicine procedures

Made an enquiry around 6pm Monday and was being seen for my initial consultation 75 minutes later. They got me in for an MRI at 11am the next morning in Newport and the report was back that afternoon. Dan was then able to get me an appointment with a consultant the next day.

I booked an initial assessment with Dan to take a look at my sore knee.
He then referred me for an mri scan in st Joseph’s hospital. The day after my scan, Dan drained the fluid from my knee and injected me with steroids. A day later my knee felt great and after a weeks rest I was back running.
